For more than 40 years, Rick Castiglione has been telling “stories that matter” to Canadian television audiences. During the first 20 years of Rick’s career, he was a local reporter, foreign correspondent and anchor for the CTV and Global Television Networks in Canada. In 2002, Rick created Cielo Pictures Inc.; a television production company uniquely focused on individuals, NGO’s and corporations who are doing what they can to make the world a better place’. Cielo Pictures Inc. has produced broadcast television documentaries, corporate awareness/training videos as well as media consulting throughout 6 continents and in more than 50 countries.
Rick has been awarded numerous Alberta and national awards for his journalism, documentary and video production work and was named “Small Business Philanthropist of the Year – 2007” by the Canadian Association of Fund Raising Professionals. From 2000 to 2017, Rick was a lecturer in the Faculty of Communication Studies, Mount Royal University, Calgary. He has co-founded two Canadian-based, international charitable organizations – Sewing Seeds International and The Building Hope Society, as well as serving on the board of directors of the Fig Tree Foundation for International Development, The Calgary Counselling Centre and is currently a member of the Nairoshi Foundation in Kenya.
